The Comfy Cow Brown Butter Peanut Brittle Wins Top National Ice Cream Award
The Comfy Cow is proud to announce that they have been named the 2015 Ice Cream Grand Champion by the World Dairy Expo Championship, the most significant and highly regarded ice cream dairy championship in North America. The winning flavor was Brown Butter Peanut Brittle.
There were over 1200 entries across all dairy categories in this year’s competition and there were 8 different ice cream categories. After each category winner is selected there is a separate competition among the individual category winners. From that, a best of show Ice Cream Grand Champion is crowned. Criteria in a blind taste test included flavor, body, texture, melting quality, color and appearance.
“This is the first year that The Comfy Cow entered”, said co-founder Roy Koons-McGee. “We felt confident our ice cream would receive some type of recognition, but were overwhelmed by winning Grand Champion and the resounding vote of support.” Co-founder Tim Koons-McGee added, “I can’t express how much it means to us to receive this award and affirmation from our industry. Our team works diligently each day to produce a superior product and we share this recognition with each and every one of them.”
The Comfy Cow’s Grand Champion Brown Butter Peanut Brittle is a mouth-watering combination of rich and savory brown butter base loaded with pieces of made-from-scratch peanut brittle. The sweet and the salty from the peanut brittle and the nutty notes from the brown butter make for the perfect ice cream.
The Comfy Cow’s Signature Flavor Brown Butter Peanut Brittle will be available year round in its scoop shops. Brown Butter Peanut Brittle and many other award winning flavors are available online and in select grocery stores including designated Whole Foods Markets, Lucky’s Market and Krogers.
